» CAMTHOMAS.COM
here we have a project about this website (weird, i know). the site was just launched and should have some hiccups for the next couple days. after building many client sites in css/xhtml, i finally decided to redo this one with the same attention to detail. let's just hope it all works.
» CAMPBELL MOUNTAIN ESTATES
this hybrid (flash/css) website has been designed for individuals over 40 who are looking for a home to live or vacation in. i went for a clean design with earthy colors borrowed from the landscape of western north carolina. the flash is easily updated as it pulls photos from an xml file.
» LE CONTEXTE DU CENTRE
this creative project involves the exploration of internet delivery methods for qualitative research in visual culture. it strives to engage new thinking into the use of graphic design, interactive narrative and web design/development by increasing research communication through the utilization of technology.
» DAILY COMMUTE
Often the spaces one must traverse with repetition are marginalized and/or reduced to a nuisance. I propose to map my cognitive understanding of the route I take to school daily. I would like to explore an area I cover frequently, yet pay little attention to as I am thinking of the tasks that lie ahead, frequently several steps in advance of my current position.
» FUEL VIDEO
this collaborative project with matt grady is a multilayered video interpretation of an area just south of downtown gainesville. the west border is the retired train depot, the east border is the abandoned grocery store on 7th ave, north our area extends to se 5th ave and the southern border is depot avenue.
» SANARY USAGE MAPS
four representations of four people and their predominate patterns of city usage. the map was designed to not give a clear picture of the city, just as the faces are arranged so that one views the city scene through them. the basic commentary is that we see a landscape through our personal filter(s).
» EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
this project has been designed to bridge the gap between interview respondent and audience. emotional intelligence plays a large role in content delivery in all forms of design and media, therefore my goal here is to begin asking pertinent questions concerning the science of emotional intelligence.
» PHOTOS - 2004
this site was designed specifically for ease of updateby implementing external images and content (txt) files. the content is a collection of photos and observations taken in five countries during the summer of 2004. my goals involved viewing instances of tourism that collide with culture and/or cultural abnormalities.
» PACKAGING MYSELF
being a musician and having some of my more interesting childhood memories center on spending time around or discussing carnivals with my father, i decided upon a circus poster design for an album. the sides of the album take a viewer through the past, present and potential future of my life.
» MIRA POSTERS
this poster series examines four individuals and four "topics" i found particularly interesting while traveling in mexico. the type is placed so as to be mostly legible with some areas behind the imagery. this is in response to not being fully able to comprehend the truth in situations regarding "the other".
» ALTERED BOOK + A DAY
this is a variation on a "day in the life" type photo experiment. my process involved taking photos of the inventions and machines i utilize on any given day. thn i took the photos and distilled them into a simple line drawing, definition and then combined them with an abstracted version of the object.
» PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE CARDS
the five items listed on these cards are a revision of the aiga's standards of professional practice. i translated the standards with a design student as the target audience and compiled them in a set to be shared and collected. when all five are assembled, they form a photocopier and graphic design emblem.
» PEDESTRIAN VIDEO
looking at pedestrian traffic and usage patterns for their clues into human behavior, i set out to document the layered and seemingly chaotic traffic on the university of florida's campus. then i took the video and outlined certain pedestrians and finally blended all of the drawings onto one "canvas".
» ANARCHY POSTERS
after writing a paper on anarchy, i borrowed designs found in the heavily photocopied punk rock design aesthetic of the 1980's and then chose to design a poster series on the concept of anarchy and five main premises outlined in the article, "Seeing Past the Outpost of Post-Anarchism", by Sandra Jeppesen.
